Which colleges have the best tenure policies or work-life balance? Where can faculty candidates expect to have a better working relationship with their administrators? There’s a survey for that.

Now in its eighth year, Great Colleges to Work For® is an annual program that marks an important shift for higher ed, putting larger emphasis on the workplace practices in academia. It’s the largest workplace survey that exists for higher ed, looking behind the curtain at the biggest factors that impact faculty working conditions and professional growth.

As in any other industry, colleges need better ways to prove their value to the potential talent they are hoping to hire. Some states have a lot to celebrate. For example, Texas and New York have 10 or more colleges honored as Great Colleges, ranging from large public universities to community colleges.
