What makes your college a great place to work?

President's Statement

Our people, collaborative culture, and commitment to improving lives make UAB special. While only 55 years old, UAB has become a leading comprehensive research university and academic medical center with an annual economic impact exceeding $12.1 billion in Alabama. Because we are mission-driven, we attract and retain talented faculty and staff who are committed to our shared values and improving lives through world-class education; research, innovation and economic development; community engagement; and patient care.

Employee Comment

I really love how UAB equally emphasizes teaching, research, clinical services, and service in the community. It feels great being a part of a university that has such a strong influence on the Birmingham community and beyond, and one that supports faculty being involved in activities outside of just teaching and research. I feel like this makes me more well-rounded as an individual, and as an educator/investigator so it is ultimately a great benefit to my work.
